My Approach & Therapeutic Style:
No matter what the modalities of therapeutic interventions are, I always use compassionate, person centered, trauma informed, collaborative care in my sessions and with my clients. I am also known to add some humor from time to time, when appropriate, in an effort to create a safe, comfortable and approachable environment where vulnerabilities are welcome. I truly consider it an honor and privilege to be a part of people’s therapeutic process.

CBT is an evidence based practice that helps treat various mental health conditions by identifying and restructuring dysfunctional core beliefs and thinking patterns to change behaviors for long term success

DBT was born from CBT and mindfulness practices to address areas of emotional distress and regulation and interpersonal effectiveness. Although traditional DBT is a structured program, I do not offer full time DBT support and skills coaching, however the principals of this approach are embedded in my practice.

MI is a helpful approach to change that “meets people where they’re at” in terms of their motivation, goal setting and ambivalence. I move through the different stages of change with people by empowering them to set goals and work through their own “stuckness” for lasting impact.

I work with adults, (18+ years) primarily through individual therapy via an encrypted telehealth platform. I specialize in Transitional Aged Youth populations, (18-26 years old) as well, where folks are facing major changes and adjustments in their lives. Many times there can be family components to sessions with the primary client’s permission and clinical implications.
