Alison M. Disseler, LICSW

With over 16 years of post-graduate school experience, I specialize in individual psychotherapy, family psychoeducation and concerns related to transitional aged youth, (folks ranging from 18-26 years old). My diverse background includes working with people with severe and chronic mental illnesses, trauma, LGBTQ+ needs, anxiety, depression, substance use, and directing a First Episode program for young people and their families experiencing early psychosis and bringing it through the state accreditation process.

I had settled into a group practice in Wellesley, MA before the pandemic, during which I decided to open my own private practice where I continue to work with clients with various needs, particularly those facing difficult life transitions. Most recently I have developed a curriculum to serve young folks who are headed to college in order to support their social, emotional, and adjustment needs, all of which have become severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

When I am not working, I enjoy the outdoors, theater, music, exploring new places, crossword puzzles, and spending time with my family and friends.
